Privacy policy
Leverplate is a reading site. There are no accounts, no forms that store answers, and the lever frame and box register run entirely in your browser.
What we collect
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Email. If you write to us, we keep your message and address so we can reply.
- Advertising and measurement. We may use advertising platforms, such as Meta, to tell people the site exists. These platforms can set cookies or use similar technology to measure visits from their ads, under their own privacy policies.
What we don't collect
Pulling a lever or filling in the printed register doesn't send anything to us. We don't sell personal information, and we don't build profiles of readers.
Cookies
The site itself needs no cookies to work. Cookies set by advertising or measurement tools can be blocked or deleted in your browser settings, and the site will still work.
How long we keep it
Emails are kept for up to two years and then deleted. Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period according to its own policy.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Leverplate is written for adults and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of the page.
